It was a face-off against two bitter rivals at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Arena on Saturday afternoon. Following a 2-1 win on Friday night the women's hockey team was looking to extend their winning streak, but were stopped short by the Manitoba Bisons in a crushing 4-1 loss.

With just under ten minutes to go in the game, and a tight scoreline at 20-18 in favour of their Italian opponents, Harry Jones ran onto the field sporting the red Canadian jersey for his first ever match in the Rugby World Cup.

Wright Field was the scene of two entertaining matches as the Thunderbirds went head-to-head against the University of Calgary Dinos for their final regular games of the season. The ‘Birds blew past the last placed Dinos, with 4-0 win on Saturday and 5-3 win on Sunday.

Last Friday, the UBC swim team hosted their annual Alumni meet. Former Thunderbird swimmer convene on the aquatic centre to show the current team what they are (still) made of.
