Austin Vetterl knew the pass was coming. Talking over the phone this past spring, the UBC forward felt confident he could break up the play and secure the series-clinching victory against the Mount Royal University Cougars.
The 2018 season had ended with UBC losing in the Canada West consolation final. It was the second time in as many seasons that the T-Birds did not qualify for nationals and the second straight year the team did not advance to the Canada West final. As a program with six national championships, losing in this way was questionable.

I remember when I rode back that there was a bit of wind, so the total time spent biking was two and a half hours. Still, that ride remains one of my most memorable experiences and that’s why this week’s recess is to ride a bike and explore campus.
