5-on-5 is back! To start off the series this year, we asked some rookies five back-to-school questions, looking back at their academic past and looking forward into their academic future.

What was your high school mascot?
MJ: Timberwolves.
RW: My mascot when I was in high school was a wolverine.
DK: My high school mascot was a cardinal.
TG: My high school mascot was a wildcat.
AV: My high school mascot was a highlander.
If your life was a sitcom, what would the theme song be?
MJ: “Maybe IDK” by Jon Bellion.
RW: If I was in a sitcom my theme song would be "What I Like About You" by The Romantics.
DK: The theme song would be "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley.
TG: "Great Dane" by Cosmo Pyke.
AV: My life’s theme song would be “Young" by Kenny Chesney.
What class are you most excited to take in your time at UBC?
MJ: KIN 390: Human Functional Musculoskeletal Anatomy.
RW: The class I'm most excited to take this year is KIN 103 ... because you get to work out during some of the labs, and who doesn't love extra gym time?
DK: I’m most excited about the upper level psychology courses that I will take in the future.
TG: Greek and Roman mythology.
AV: I am most excited to be taking PSYC 101 and 102 this year!
If you could play another sport what would it be?
MJ: Rugby.
RW: If I could play any other sport, I would probably go back to playing ice hockey.
DK: If I could play another sport, it would have to be tennis.
TG: Volleyball, if I was taller.
AV: If I could play another sport, I would play softball.
Tim Hortons or Starbucks?
MJ: Tim Hortons.
RW: I go to Starbucks more than Tim Hortons, but I like the occasional Timbit.
DK: Tim Hortons — more for less money.
TG: Tim Hortons.
AV: Starbucks.
