Zarifa Nawar is your next VP AUA.
Nawar, who was elected to the VP AUA position after a by-election, defeated current AUS VP academic Ananya Gupta.
After results were announced, Nawar said she felt "fucking elated."
Nawar ran on a platform of affordability, academic policy career development and equity and accessibility.
“I'm gonna get right to work,” said Nawar.
Nawar, who was also elected to the UBC Vancouver Senate, will start her term as VP AUA on May 1.
