Jenna Omassi, Samantha So, Nick Dawson, Lina Castro and Kaidie Williams have emerged victorious over 11 others running for Senate.
“I'm so happy I'm returning to Senate and so happy — more happy — that WUSC passed,” said Omassi.
Omassi is also happy with the diverse group of people elected for the position. The Ubyssey was unable to reach Dawson, Castro and Williams for comment. However, the two that were visibly celebrating in the Pit were happy.
“I think it’s good. I think it’s a very diverse group of people,” said Omassi, who will be returning to the Senate for a second term.
So also voiced her happiness that she performed well in the debates — she will be a newcomer to Senate but a busy one, as she also won VP Academic and University Affairs.
“I almost dropped out in first year, and now I'm VP Academic and Senate. It's just amazing!” said So.
“A lot of people are telling me to celebrate, but now I feel like I should start planning now for the entire year,” said So. “I should tell my mom.”
