Jeanie Malone and Kevin Doering win UBC Board of Governors seats

Out of five candidates running in the race — Louis Retief, Jeanie Malone, Kevin Doering, Jakob Gattinger and Sneha Balani — Jeanie Malone and Kevin Doering have won the two available Vancouver seats on the Board of Governors.

All of the candidates were very equally matched in this race with similar platforms and extensive experience between them.

“I’m excited and a little bit surprised!” said Malone over the din of congratulations.

“I’m really excited to start representing students to the best of my ability as soon as possible,” said Doering, engulfed in hugs from his friends.

As for the first thing he’s going to do right now? 

“Calm my nerves,” he said.
