Police are seeking witnesses to a home invasion that happened Wednesday morning in Wesbrook Village.
At 11:30 a.m. on May 29, University RCMP responded to a report of a “break and enter in” on the 3400-block of Wesbrook Mall where the suspect allegedly aimed a firearm at the victims.
According to a statement issued today by the RCMP, the residents arrived home and interrupted the suspect, who brandished what appeared to be a firearm at them. The suspect then instructed the residents into the bathroom as he fled the area.
RCMP is now looking for a Middle Eastern or South Asian male suspect who appears to be about 50 years old. He is described to be 5 feet 4 inches tall and heavyset, speaking with a strong accent.
He was last seen wearing a dark baseball hat and dark unzipped jacket.
UBC declined to comment on an ongoing investigation that did not occur on campus.
