UBC’s Farm Market is back and ready for action. Every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m., you can find a variety of fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers and fresh eggs at the Farm Market.
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, you can find the market right on the farm. But on Wednesdays, it journeys to the heart of campus and sets up vendor-style right outside the Bookstore. Yesterday, they had a quaint little set up with radishes, strawberries, parsley, thyme and spinach, to name just a few. At the opening of their market, people were already flocking toward the white tents. Evidently, it was quite popular as they were all packed up in less than a few hours later.
The farm is located at the south end of campus off of Marine Drive and all of the products at UBC's Farm Market are sourced locally and very well-priced. Additionally on Saturdays, you can take a free 30-minute tour of the farm and see where everything is grown and how it's prepared. Not only does the farm grow food, it also has animals on site as well as a composting facility.
The Farm asks that you pay in cash and try and bring your own reusable bags for carrying your groceries home. Check out their schedule here in case they add more events!
