It was a literal Animal House at Kappa Sigma this afternoon. Dogs provided by Pets and Friends, a Vancouver nonprofit, descended upon the house for a few hours of love from stressed out UBC students in a situation that everyone would agree was win-win. Fried chicken and waffles were served, just to make sure the event hit its comfort quota.
The fee to get in was a minimum suggested donation of two dollars, and all proceeds went to the UBC Mental Health Awareness Club, to then be donated to fighting depression. "Being able to team up with them was an honour," said Steven Cheung, who organized the event for Kappa Sigma. Getting everything set up was "hectic, but at the same time it was a lot of fun, because [the proceeds] are going towards a really great cause."
