The end is near! The last day of classes is this Friday and celebrations will be taking place all over campus.
From 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, April 8, Roots on the Roof is hosting a DIY moss art event. Students can form and figure moss on tile, whether it be words or shapes, that will grow and fix itself to the tile. Roots on the Roof is calling it “a living art piece.”
Roots on the Roof is a club — also known as the Rooftop Garden Club — that cares for the garden on the roof of the Nest. According to their website, their aim is “to create an inclusive space for social engagement and opportunities to explore, learn and actively take part in food system initiatives” — and they’re fulfilling their mission until the very last day of school.
All materials will be free while they last and members of the club will be around to talk about what they do, how they manage the garden and future opportunities that the club offers.
