As a reaction to the potential transit strike that could happen as early as November 1, someone created a Facebook event called “Camp IKB, they can’t kick us all.” This event is scheduled to take place from Halloween night at 11:30 p.m. until November 14th at 12 a.m., an optimistic time period for a strike like this.
With UBC saying classes and business will operate as usual if strike action goes ahead, lots of students will have a hard time getting to campus, as cycling isn’t really an option for many commuters and owning a car is expensive these days. The only foolproof method is to simply never leave campus. So if you’re not afraid of campus security and don’t care about the fact that IKB closes at 1 a.m., here’s your option.
