With all the parties UBC hosts around Halloween — we're looking at you “Halloween Pub Crawl” posters — it can be difficult to decide which ones that are worth attending and which ones can be tossed aside.
Check out the list below and make your plans for this weekend:
October 27
If you are looking for an event filled day, then October 27 is the day for you — so trick or treat yourself to a few of these Halloween events.
Work off that pre-Halloween candy at this event hosted by UBC REC. This run takes you through UBC’s Point Grey campus in either 2 ways — an individual 6 kilometre run or a four-way relay.
Halloween SpOoOky Show - UBC Improv
At this UBC Improv event, you’ll be sure to have a “ghourd” time. It will be a night filled with laughs and many spooky costumes.
Bring a little boo-gie as you party at this event hosted by the UBC Calendar. This sold out event is located at Koerner’s Pub, but you can still buy tickets from those selling on the Facebook page — and sorry to all those under-nineteens, this event is solely 19+.
The Pit Pub will be transformed into a “dungeon stage” and some ghoulish music will fill your ears. So come to this event, eat, drink and be scary! Make sure to wear your best costume, because if you’ve got it, haunt it — and there will be prizes given out for the best costumes.
Ever wonder about all those bright orange handouts you seen sprawled across your lecture hall desks? This Halloween event, both on the 27 and the 28, is hosted by clubzone, and promises “amazing mobile party busses, VIP entrance, drink specialties and costume prizes” as you hop around the clubs in downtown Vancouver.
October 28
A second party hosted by UBC’s favourite party group, the Calendar. This event is is hosted in ESC, so you can't bring any “boos”, but the Calendar promises it will still be fun. Somehow.
Dive Rocky Horror Halloween: TIME WARP
Come join this event hosted by UBC’s arts and culture community. Koerner’s Pub will be transformed into Rocky Horror themed party. As they say themselves: “Break out those heels, hike up your garter belts, and raid your nearest vintage store for those glam getups that release your inner queen, (whoever that may be), babes... this one's going to be a scream!”
October 29
If you need a little break from all of the party events, what better way to do that than at the local Vancouver Autumn Market? This market will have crafts made by local artists and will get you out to enjoy the beautiful October Sunday.
October 31
Located a bit off campus at the Portside Pub, this Halloween event hosted by UBC Ski and Board is said to be the “funnest fricken night of your whole life.” So if you want to show off some of your halloween spirit on the actual night of Halloween — and possibly skip your Wednesday morning lecture the following morning — head out to this crazy Halloween event.
