Gender inclusive washrooms have been gaining popularity at universities across Canada, and have been established at many. UBC is among the list of institutions attempting to make all students on campus feel comfortable and safe while using public washrooms.
The Equity and Inclusion Office, Access and Diversity, Pride UBC, Land and Building Services, and the Access and Diversity Council have been involved in creating over 50 gender inclusive washrooms across campus.
