Last night, students gathered in the Gallery 2.0 to engage with the AMS on affordability in the form of an interactive “The Price is Right” style game show. Host Gordon Katic quizzed contestants on the prices of different aspects of postsecondary.
The First Nations and Indigenous Studies department is investigating the ways that they can bring Indigenous content into the classroom. Currently, the Indigenous Curriculum Working Committee is being assembled to research different initiatives.
The Andrew W. Mellon foundation has awarded UBC a three year grant of $679,970 in order to develop a digital publishing platform for those pursuing Indigenous studies. The platform will allow students and scholars to engage in collaborative research.
The final presentation to the UBC Board of Governors will occur in spring of 2017. On October 3, UBC will also be consulting with the Vancouver campus community on options as to how they can meet the campus’s evolving athletic demands.
