The Nest’s $68 million dollar construction loan will now be financed by RBC, saving students up to 50 million dollars. The original construction loan would have had students paying a levy for the Nest until 2045.

Previously exclusive to international students, Jump Start is a week-long academic and social orientation session designed to immerse incoming students to UBC’s social and academic life. It now includes domestic students entering Sauder and LFS.
They will have to “ensure student experience is well represented in UBC’s strategic plan, advocate for student-friendly allocations of the Excellence Fund and work to provide students with a strong voice in all aspects of the university.”

As stated in the documents, the goal of Ono’s apology will be to “acknowledge the university’s responsibilities and strengthened commitment to collaborative relations with Indigenous people in BC and Canada.”
