Jakob Gattinger, a third-year mining engineering student, is running to be one of five student senators-at-large in the UBC Vancouver Senate with a platform focused on mental health, a commitment to diversity and tuition consultation concerns.
Third-year economics student Ian Sapollnik is running for re-election after serving one term as arts student senator in the UBC Vancouver Senate, making it his third campaign for Senate since he first ran in 2015.
Third-year atmospheric science student Daniel Lam served on the Student Senate caucus for this past academic year, and is currently running for re-election. His platform reflects ongoing work done by student senators and several new initiatives.
Yesterday’s AMS Elections Great Debate started off with the two candidates for VP External — Sally Lin and Dario Garousian. The first question posed to both candidates asked how each of them planned on addressing transit strains for students.

This year’s candidates for VP Administration met once again this afternoon for the Great Debate. In contrast with the last one, this debate saw a deeper discussion of certain topics and more challenging questions from the audience.
