On August 24, 2016, Ada, an autonomously sailing robot designed and built by a team of UBC students, set out to be the first boat to cross the Atlantic Ocean completely autonomously. She was lost at sea until December 1, 2017.
Rob McCloy previously worked with the RCMP for 28 years in various roles, most recently as the superintendent in charge of provincial policing and detachment operations for the province of Alberta.

All proceeds from the event will go the Eastside Boxing Club, a community-based non-profit organization that provides free boxing programs to vulnerable populations and at-risk children and youth in East Vancouver.
