Three candidates for the Vancouver-Point Grey riding came to the Nest Thursday evening for a debate focused on student issues. The Ubyssey moderated the debate and has since checked the veracity of some of the candidates' claims.
Ahead of the BC provincial elections in May, The Ubyssey hosted a debate between three of the candidates vying for the Vancouver-Point Grey riding, centring around issues that relate to students such as student loans, affordable housing, and transit.
“If you want your voice heard and you want your tuition to be reasonable and have affordable housing, you must vote,” said UBC PhD student, Conny Lin. “We have a substantial voting pool and we need to utilize it.”
“Because of this, I would recommend including in the policy a right for the respondent to produce evidence as well as a direction to the investigator to inform them of that right and of the types of evidence that may be relevant.”
